  • Resilient Homeland : Development of a Smart UAV-based Disaster Prevention System

Project Name

Resilient Homeland : Development of a Smart UAV-based Disaster Prevention System

Project Goal

The project plan to develop an all-round autonomous aerial vehicle system with highly adaptive flight control abilities, including on the spot GPS-less maneuvering, smart wide-area inspection, autonomous navigation & surveillance, which are also supported by smart & far-reaching communication, smart data compression for machine, and autonomous flight control technologies. The highly adaptable UAV system will achieve the goals of environmental safety monitoring and disaster prevention. The project will also establish aerial image datasets for surrounding environments of Taiwan, including images of crops, alien species, endangered animals, roads & rivers, sea water with waste & drifts, etc.

Project Description

Through “construction of an all-round and seamless disaster alarm/prevention system” and “development of supporting systems for flight control, communication and data processing for unmanned aerial vehicles,” reaching the goal of developing intelligent video analytics of drone, including efficient delivery of needed sensory information, for disastrous and sensitive areas.
